| Backing Up your data using Sonic DLA |

| Notes: This process will demonstrate how to backup your data to CD using Sonic DLA |

1) Insert a blank CD into your CD-R or CD-RW drive, and if you wait a few seconds you will get this message below…
2) If you do not get the above message, double click on My Computer 3) Right click on the CD-R or CD-RW drive 4) Choose “Format” 5) Type in a label for your CD, I used PastPerfect Backup CD 6) Click Start 7) You will get a message… 8) Click yes. 9) When the format is finished, you will get a message saying that you must make this CD compatible before taking it out of the computer tower. Click ok. 10) Open PastPerfect and click on the Setup Tab. 11) Click on General Information and make sure the correct letter for the CD-R or CD-RW drive is in the field for CD backup drive, for example D:\, E:\, or F:\.. 12) Click on the Utilities Tab. 13) Click on the Backup button. 14) Click on Backup Data to CD, then Start. 15) When the backup is complete, you should see this message! 16) Note, before removing the CD from the computer, you MUST make this disc compatible so that it can be read in other computers. To do this, go to the My computer area and right click on the CD-R, CD-RW drive, select Make Compatible. You will get this screen… 17) Click Start. Then you should get this message… 17) Click ok, now you have your PastPerfect backup on CD!
