| PastPerfect Technical Bulletin 02-2002 |
| Backing Up Images to a CD-R or CD-RW with Version 3.0 & Roxio CD Creator 5 |
| Revised 6/29/2002 NOT FOR VERSION 4.0 USERS. Please refer to the Version 4 user guide. |
| Scope: PastPerfect Version 3.0B9 (and above) and Easy CD Creator 5 Basic and above, and Windows 98, ME, 2000 Professional, XP Home, or XP Professional. |
| Notes: Frequent data and image backups are important. Backups should be made daily when working with PastPerfect to reduce the threat of data loss. Many customers have asked for PastPerfect to write directly to their CD-R and RW drives and we are pleased to offer the following instructions. Please note, while these instructions are written for the specified software above, your CD writing software may be equally capable of formatting a CD and writing to it directly from our program. |
|
Configuring the CD:
Configuring PastPerfect: Open PastPerfect 2) Click “Utilities” then Click “Backup” 3) Put the radio button (dot) in “copy image folders to remote drive.” 4) Change the field “Image Backup folder” to the CD-R Drive (mine is e:\) 5) Next select the folders you want backed up. 6) Click Start Procedure, Be Patient, Image Backups can take a long time (5-50 minutes) 7) PastPerfect should return a message, “Backup to e:\ complete!”
Still not convinced you have data on the CD????
If you have trouble writing directly to your CD using Version 3.0 and Roxio Easy CD Creator 5, please contact our Technical Support Office. |
