Scatter/Gather is the perfect tool for organizations with multiple sites such as historic houses and living history farms. If your organization has multiple sites that are not connected by a wide area network, Scatter/Gather can help bring all your collections together at headquarters. Each separate site can maintain a database of their collections. Simply scatter the records to the Headquarters site where they can be gathered together in one comprehensive database for the entire organization.

Additionally, you may have a volunteer that needs to work at home entering new catalog records of historic photos. They can install PastPerfect on their home computer without paying for an extra copy of the basic program. Periodically the Scatter function can be used to take new records to the museum where they are Gathered into the main collection.

Or you may want to load PastPerfect onto a laptop and take in into the gallery to update locations and descriptions of some items, then load the updated information into the main museum computer.
