Gentlemen Ranchers : Artifacts and Photographs

The Pastville Historical Society is proud to present this online exhibit Gentlemen Ranchers: Artifacts and Photographs based on rural life at the Rocky Pine Ranch. Learn more about the daily lives of ranching families in the western United States throughout the 20th century through a collection of artifacts and photographs from the Rocky Pine Ranch near Spokane, WA. This exhibit outlines the lives of four generations of the Hilton family - starting with the orginal pioneers just establishing the farm.

This exhibit gives visitors a perspective on traditional rural life which is slowly disappearring from the American landscape. Many of the photographs show farming methods and chores over time. Get a feel for life on the farm from the artifacts like the quilt, flour sifter, and child's toy.
