We are happy to introduce three extraordinary museum members from the Pastville community through their collections. This online exhibit showcases newly acquired natural history and geological specimens from the Erwin J. Tucker and Roger & Jean Anne Johnson collections.
Mostly likely you know Erwin Tucker as the owner of the Copper Kettle Restaurant, but did you know he is also a fossil and mineral expert? Erwin has explored our area over the last fifty years and uncovered ancient fossils and beautiful rocks and mineral clusters. The collection includes an extraordinary herring fossil from 50 million years ago and one of the best examples of amethyst ever found in Pastville.
Erwin gives informal lectures about minerals and fossils at the museum on Sundays at 2pm and 4pm.
Roger and Jean Anne Johnson have traveled around the world collecting rock and mineral specimens. When they moved to Pastville in 1982, they brought a wealth of information and over a quarter of a million artifacts from their voyages. Uncover this vast collection's true "gems" through this online exhibit and in Jean Anne's podcasts. Jean Anne describes her family's journeys and the treasures they found.
