Notes, Legal, Provenance

The Notes field may be used to record any additional information. There is no limit to the number of lines or the type of information recorded in this field.

 

The Legal Status field provides information about legal status and any specific legal restrictions placed upon the item.

 

The Provenance field is used to give a detailed history of the past ownership of an item. Give information, including dates, on successive transfers of ownership and custody of the item. Ideally, the Provenance field will list the history of the item from its creation, through subsequent owners, to its final transfer to your institution.

 

The Web Rights field is used to identify copyright statements based on the definitions listed at http://rightsstatements.org.  When a record is included in Public Access, this field can provide a hyperlink to the appropriate rights statement. Web Rights is controlled by an authority file.
